Greet the sunrise with morning coffee on the screen porch as you watch the cows graze in the surrounding fields.
Enjoy a lovely walk down through the woods to picturesque Toddy Pond for a swim and kayak, followed by an afternoon nap on the sun drenched window seats. Grill on the patio as your kids play amongst the nearby apple trees.
In the evening relax around the fire pit as fireflies, crickets, loons and owls take the stage. With no competing lights, the stars are the brightest you've ever seen.
The Farm and Cottage
Originally built in the 1800's and renovated in the last decade, the farm stay cottage is a charming mix of old and new. A beautiful screen porch with wooden rockers faces east and captures the morning sun perfectly. The kitchen is small and quaint with new appliances installed in 2020. South and West facing windows wrap around the main room letting in sunlight, summer breezes, and a stunning view of Toddy Pond and the Camden Hills beyond. On chilly fall and winter days, a cozy wood stove makes you want to snuggle into the window seats, nap in the sun, and never leave. The first floor master bedroom has southern and western windows that wrap around opening to the farm fields and surrounding apple trees. A lovely (and steep) little stairwell takes you up to two sweet bedrooms, a second full bath, and an adorable sleeping nook. There is no internet, television or Wifi at the cottage. A great excuse to truly unplug and relax.
A sun dappled wooded path takes you down to the waters edge. Toddy Pond, more of a small lake than a pond, is quiet and serene. The farm's property includes over a mile of water frontage. The water is lovely for swimming and the four kayaks and paddle boat are perfect for fishing and exploring the pond and several small islands. Nesting loons and bald eagles are always a delight to see and hear on the pond.
The farm offers 500+ private acres. There are several miles of mapped and marked trails to walk or mountain bike on as well as a small farm pond that hosts heaps of frogs, turtles and such. The fields and woodlands offer much to explore and experience from bird watching, play, and quiet reflection.
The cottage is within sight of Toddy Pond Farm, but has total privacy. Summer farm stay guests are welcomed to visit the farm yard and animals at their leisure and are invited to a Sunday afternoon tour. (approx 1 hour). We will show you and your family about the farm yard, introduce you to the animals, as well as answer any questions you might have.
Your hosts Greg and Heide live and work full time on Toddy Pond Farm with their two sons, Guthrie (23) and Oliver (21).
We or our staff are always here, and always busy! We are happy to answer questions if you should catch us outside, or via texts or email.

Our stay at Toddy Pond Farm was simply perfect. It’s complete beautiful. My 8 year old girls had so much fun playing with the friendly farm dogs, feeding the pigs and piglets and seeing the cows and sheep. We went out on boats on the pond and hiked some of the trails. Greg was very responsive and gave fab recommendations of where to go at Arcadia National Park as well as restaurant recommendations. We had a fabulous time and would love to come again.

This was the best vacation I’ve had in years! Absolutely beautiful place! Cows right outside your window and more stars in the night sky than I’ve seen in my life! Greg and Heide are very welcome hosts and their three dogs are excellent tour guides. Love this place and I will come back!
Kevin - May 2023
This is a magical place. It’s stunningly beautiful. The sky is bright with stars at night. We loved feeding the pigs and playing with the dogs. We loved swimming in the pond and walking on the trails. It was an easy drive too many sweet little towns. I will absolutely be back.
Ann - August 2023
Beautiful cottage on a beautiful farm. The house was cozy and felt right at home. It was clean and had lots of space. I loved all the charm left even though it’s been updated. The beds were comfy and bathrooms were clean. We were able to enjoy the trails down to the pond. If you are able to make dinner reservations at the restaurant I highly recommend it!! The whole atmosphere of the barn was so cozy and inviting and the food was AMAZING!! Would love to return with the kids again! Thank you!
Christine - December 2023
Beautiful spacious cottage with views of the farm and pond! The large front porch was great for morning coffee, playing games and petting the farm dogs. Enjoyed kayaking at the pond, fishing at the fishing hole, farm dinners and driving to Belfast for dinners out. Our kids went to farm camp as well and loved it. They never wanted to leave!
Michelle - August 2022
We had a very nice, relaxing week at the Toddy Pond Farm. We spent about half of our days on the farm (with our children attending the farm camp which they loved), and half the days seeing the surrounding area and visiting Acadia Park. The restaurant/live music on weekends was a lot of fun!
Stephen - July 2022
We had an incredible time on the farm. The house and property are perfect for a family getaway.
Molly - January 2022
Go here if you love nature. It is a great place to experience the beauty of a remote farm that has lots of room to roam and explore. The cottage is comfortable and spacious and is perfect for rest and relaxation. We enjoyed ourselves and loved accessing the farm store which has amazing yogurt, kefir and cheese! We hope to return in the future!
Donna - January 2021
Our family had the best time spending Thanksgiving week at Toddy Pond Farm. The cottage was so cozy and our kids loved watching the sheep grazing literally on our front steps. We visited the animals every day, walked the trails, and loved cooking meals with all of the delicious meats, cheeses, eggs, etc. from the farm. The farm store is so well-curated. Greg even arranged for our kids to meet the new baby calf who had just been born the prior week. They were wonderful hosts! We hope to come back in the summer!
Natalie - November 2020
An incredible stay! Perfect for families looking to unwind and connect with their surroundings. The farm is charming and the farm store makes it an even more perfect stay. Thanks for making it a great stay (and thanks to our favorite farm dog as well)! We will miss this special place.
M. - October 2020
Absolutely idyllic vacation spot. The house is spacious and sparkling clean. Morning greetings from the lovely cow ladies and farm dogs were the highlight of our stay.
Laura - September 2020
The house is very comfortable for a family of four. The pond is beautiful, and we made good use of the kayaks. The location is lovely, and we loved our time on the farm.
Amber - August 2020
There are so many good things to say about Toddy Pond Farm, it is had to know where to begin. We truly enjoyed our stay. The house is charming in a relaxed and cozy way. With plenty of spots to visit, nap, sip or enjoy a bite. Overall, there is a sense of rambling comfort. The cleanliness of what is essentially an old-time Maine hunting camp was welcome and impressive. A short stroll to the pond rewarded us with refreshing swims and waterside seating in a pleasant shady spot. Although we didn’t take advantage of the farm tour and chores, the kayaks, etc. there is plenty of participatory fun to be had. Instead we laid back, watched the fog lift in the morning and the cows go to and fro. Of course collecting your food scraps to feed to the pigs shouldn’t be missed. One ,if not both, of the delightful border collies may even lead the way. The farm store, although technically closed, was open to us as guests. It is a short stroll from the accommodations and sure came in handy. Everything we purchased and ate was absolutely delicious. Our hosts allowed us the privacy and quiet we sought, but always replied promptly by text to any of our needs. This is such a well cared for a pleasant place, we cannot wait to return!

Toddy Pond is fantastic—both Heide and Greg are passionate about their very productive and beautiful farm. Their obvious care for all of the animals, both large and small, is apparent in not only the way they approach and speak about farming, but in how they interact with their animals. The space is beautiful and offers moments for quiet and for interacting with nature. My whole family, aged 2 to 40ish, loved our time on the farm.
Alisa - June 2020
I could not have asked for a more magical or educational week for my whole family. My boys, 6 and 4 respectively, had their endless questions enthusiastically answered by everyone on the farm. They enjoyed picking blueberries and foraging for lemongrass, swimming, fishing, chasing butterflies, helping with farm chores, watching all of the animals (bees, cows, sheep, piggies and piglets!, baby ducks, goats, doggies...), collecting insects and wildflowers and researching them in the field guides from the cabin library, and frequently thanking the cows, which are always in view of the cabin, for their delicious milk. We all reset our sleep schedules with the sun, enjoyed the starry nights observable from the cabin, and had lazy meals with a spectacular view in the warm breezes of the screened in porch. Greg and Heidi and their wonderful boys foster a beautiful sense of community for everyone who steps foot on their property. The farm store is filled to the brim with farm fresh and delicious meat, dairy, and eggs and other locally made goodies (soaps, yarn, ceramics, etc). If you are considering staying here, all I can say is pack up you mud boots and go! It is impossible to leave Toddy Pond Farm without feeling welcomed, a little more connected to nature, and inspired by example to live more gently and productively.
Zahra - August 2019
We think Greg and Heidi are doing something very special at Toddy Pond Farm. We totally enjoyed this unique opportunity to stay on a working farm. We especially liked the cows and piglets, the fresh treats at the farm store, the Friday night "grill and chill," swimming in the pond, and all the terrific personal touches in our cabin's decor. The messages on the walls from past guests were great, and Greg and Heidi are inspirational. We definitely hope to return some day.
Maureen - July 2019
Spent a perfect week here with my two boys (ages 12 and 14). This place is about as idyllic as you could ever imagine. A perfect guest house with amazing views and gracious hosts (Heidi and Greg) welcomed us on the first day. Then... Swimming and kayaking in Toddy pond, personal farm tour by Greg, feeding the chickens and pigs, watching the newborn piglets, getting up close to the dairy cows, day trips to Acadia national park and Camden Hills state park, best ice cream sandwiches, exploring the farm, seeing happy cows grazing right outside our window! The kids were thrilled. We were in the pond every day! What a pleasure to reconnect with nature. Simply terrific.
Michael - July 2019
We just spent 4 nights at Toddy Pond Farm and could not have had a nicer stay. The farm cottage had a lot of room with everything that we needed. The screened porch is peaceful and the perfect place for a meal or to read. Greg and Heide were wonderful hosts. Heide was so accommodating and gave us a thorough tour of the farm and animals and was so nice to our 2.5 year old son. Gilley, the dog, was a hit! We tried several delicious food items from the store including bacon, steak, lamb and pork chops and farm fresh eggs. This was a much needed getaway and we can't wait to return.
Gitanjali - June 2019
We had the best weekend celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday with our children and first grandchild. Toddy Pond Farm is a magical place, nature walks, hanging out with the farm animals, fresh delicacies from the farm store, and beautiful fall foliage. The only thing I would have done differently is planned for a longer stay, we all can’t wait to come back in the spring and make this a family vacation tradition! Thank you Greg and Heide!!!
Patricia - October 2018
We look forward to our now annual visit to Toddy Pond Farm all year long!
Amanda - September 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022
Our grandchildren loved helping with farm chores of gathering eggs, feeding chickens and goats and observing milking. The fresh dairy, meat, bread, produce and ice cream sandwiches available at the farm store richly enhanced our stay. The availability of kayaks and the swimming dock made for fun afternoons on warm days. The living area was spacious and the screened porch, outdoor grill and fire pit expanded our play and dining options. Nearby Swan Lake State Park provides additional swimming and kayaking fun. We made some wonderful memories and thank Heidi and Greg and their farm intern for giving us a deeper appreciation of sustainable family farming!
Susan - July 2018
Toddy Pond Farm is beautiful and the hosts, Greg and Heide, were so friendly. They showed us the farm and allowed our daughter to collect eggs, feed the cows, the pigs, the sheep, and the chickens. We saw lambs. Once we knew where everything was, we were invited to come back whenever was convenient so we returned the next day and my daughter collected eggs again in the basket Heide had left with us. We walked down to the pond, which is stunning and would be particularly amazing in summer. The wood burning stove was lovely too. We went in April and it was a great place to unplug and unwind. We hope to return again, next time stay longer and probably come in later spring or summer so we can do more around the pond.
Georgina - April 2018
This spot delivered as advertised. Prompt responses to all communication and questions. Felt right at home in this completely peaceful and classic Maine setting. Super generous hosts both in making us feel welcome, comfortable, and sharing their wonderful farm life. Only short coming was our stay was too short! I will definitely revisit another time some day. 5 star spot in my view.
David - November 2017
Toddy Pond Farm is like no place in the world. You can read reviews and get a small feel of what each person experienced, but till you experience it for yourself will you not truly understand. Beauty beyond words, hospitality like non other, and a truly unforgettable time to be had by anyone lucky enough to experience Toddy Farm first hand. Just read the walls where visitor have etched their experiences before the time of social media and the one consistent is the love for this magical place. With our last minutes there we decided to not say goodbye but we shall see you again. Thanks so much Heide, Greg, Guthrie, Oliver, Shep, and the rest of the support cast of pets and farm animals!!!!! We will see you again!!!!
Tristan - Sept. 2017
We were looking for a beautiful place to celebrate our daughter's second birthday where we could just walk outside and ski or snowshoe. Toddy Pond Farm was the perfect spot. Greg and Heide were warm and generous hosts, taking time to talk to us about their farm and animals. The cottage is beautiful with plenty of room for our party of 5 adults and two toddlers to spread out. The view is stunning and we are already planning a trip to return in the summer for kayaking and swimming.
Abigail - February 2017
Great week! We toured the farm and learned about their farming techniques, swam, kayaked and ate the best ice cream I've ever had. Heide and Greg were wonderful hosts and generous with their time and knowledge. My eleven year old was captivated by the farm, especially the pigs, and Greg and Heide took time with her and answered all her questions. The house was light-filled and clean. We ate all our meals on the porch looking out over fields and cows. At night, the only sound was an occasional loon and a cow bell worn by a calf. I miss the peacefulness and would go back in a second.
Kristi - July 2016
We stayed at Toddy Pond Farm in August when the weather in that part of Maine is fantastic but not too hot. We loved the short walk to the pond every morning for kayaking and discovering the small islands on the pond, one of which was perfect to dock the kayaks and go for a swim. The kids loved swimming during the day or walking around the farm, seeing the animals or just exploring. It was so peaceful and such a different experience from going to a more touristy area.
The kids also loved playing with Shep, the resident border collie, who is always up for a game of catch. And in the afternoons we would walk to the farm store and get some yogurt made from the farm or ice cream sandwiches. It's a pretty relaxing way to spend a week and by the end, the kids were asking more and more questions about how farms work and where food comes from, which is also great.
We did go into Belfast a bit and found some nice restaurants there, and went to Moose Point State Park and Sears island, all very short drives. We will absolutely come back next year, and may be more interested in day trips at that time. For this first visit, we were perfectly comfortable just hanging out on the porch and spending as much time as possible being active on the water. Everything we needed to relax and have fun was right on the farm.

We spent four wonderful nights here. The cottage truly exceeded our expectations. Perfectly appointed with beautiful views ...our family of 4 (with children 14 & 12) made memories to last a lifetime!!! We enjoyed exploring many acres of Toddy Pond Farm, GREAT fishing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, seeing the wildlife, meeting all of the sweet farm animals...and we especially enjoyed the screened porch or the comfy corner couch nook relaxing, reading and taking in the picture perfect scenery of the pond.
We explored Belfast, Camden, Bar Harbor, Acadia, Cadillac Mtn., but our favorite memories are of Belfast and time spent at Toddy Pond Farm. Some farm highlights were joining the morning milking, enjoying fresh eggs, all of the animals & playing with the dogs!
Greg & Heide- we can not thank you enough for everything!!! You have something VERY special here and we feel lucky to have spent a little time at your cottage....4 nights was not quite enough! We look forward to when we can stay again!!
Denise - July 2014
Beautiful setting with a wonderfully cozy/comfortable cottage! Greg and Heide were awesome hosts--very friendly, courteous and helpful. Great farm store on the property that provided us with some outstanding dairy products and an amazing network of trails for endless snowshoeing and skiing adventures. Excellent location near Belfast and a private setting make this place a winner all around--we'll be back in the summer for sure!
