Our Pups:

These pups have been raised in our home. They are handled (many times!) daily, enjoy interactions with family and friends. They routinely see cats, hear vacuum cleaners, and all the usual household sights and sounds.

8 wk old Pups will have received the first set of puppy shots, will have had two sequential deworming at 6 and 8 weeks, as well as their first monthly dose of flea and tick preventative. Ticks come out early and with a vengeance in Maine.

The pups will have been weaned and eating “Blue Buffalo” grain free puppy kibble + our farm’s grass-fed raw meat. Puppies at 8 weeks will be on an every 3-4 hr feeding schedule. Pups will go home with a bag of their current food to get you started, and allow you to slowly transition to a different feed if you choose.

We are currently going outside to eat and poop , and the pups are doing a great job waiting to poop until they get outside.  They sleep from 8pm-6am and use a puppy pad at night.

Pups have access to a crate and routinely choose to sleep in it. We highly recommend crate training your pup. We crate trained all of our dogs, and it was a great tool for housebreaking and giving pups a safe place to be when we couldn’t be around. We would place the crate next to our beds. Your puppy views you as the leader of its pack, sleeping in a pack is a valuable part of the bonding process. Many dogs love their crates even as adults, ours chose to not use them once they were confidently house broken and passed the destructive chewing phase.

Adoption:

Pups will be available after 8 weeks of age. We offer several opportunities for folks to come and interact and observe as a group and help socialize the pups. We will accept deposits to hold a pup, but ask folks to wait until 7-8 weeks when personalities and traits are more established before they select a specific baby. We urge people to choose a pup by their traits and personality first, and appearance last.  Some pups may be cuter then others, but all pups will turn into adults before you know it, and choosing a pup that is a good fit for your family will be an invaluable first step in your long relationship together. There are notes on each baby here, and we’re more then happy to offer suggestions on who might be the best fit.
